3-day agro-tech fair begins in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS)- A three-day Agricultural Technology Fair has begun here today with the aim of promoting modern and sustainable technology in agriculture.

The fair was formally inaugurated by Abdul Matin, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) at Upazila Parishad premises.

With the theme ‘Agriculture is Prosperity,’ the fair has been organized by the Upazila Agriculture Office under the Sustainable Agricultural Development Project.

The inauguration programme was presided over by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fahmida Sultana.  Abu Razo Md. Asaduzzaman, Project Director of the Sustainable Agricultural Development Project, Dinajpur region; Subodh Chandra Roy, Additional Deputy Director of the DAE, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Asadunnabi and Agricultural Extension Officer Arjun Chandra Roy were present among others.

Stalls in the fair were decorated with various agricultural products, including vegetables and fruits, produced by local farmers. 

Officials from the agriculture department are providing guidance to farmers on modern cultivation methods, improved seed varieties, balanced fertilizer management and pest and disease control.
Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Asadunnabi said the main objective of the fair is to introduce modern agricultural technologies to the farmers, raise awareness about improved production methods and encourage them by showcasing their agricultural products.

Deputy Director of the DAE Abdul Matin said use of modern technology must be increased to make the agriculture more profitable. 

He also noted that such fairs allow farmers to become familiar with new technologies and innovations, which will boost production and ensure financial well-being.

He said that the DAE will support the farmers for applying modern agricultural technologies and reach it to the grassroots level.
