RAJSHAHI, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS)- A divisional consultative meeting was held in Rajshahi with the aim of overall development of business owners, protection
of their rights, and ensuring the sustainable progress of the bakery industry.
To this end, the meeting was organised this (Friday) afternoon at Hotel Warisan in the city by the Rajshahi District Bakery Owners Association.
The chief guest at the meeting was Hasan Ali Alal, president of the North Bengal Bakery Owners Association and Chairman of Akbariya Group.
He said that the bakery industry is a promising and important sector in the economy of the northern region. To sustain this industry, the strength of the organization must be used effectively, he added.
He emphasized that any crisis can be addressed through unified decisions and collective initiatives.
The meeting was presided over by Selim Reza, president of the Rajshahi District Bakery Owners Association.
He said that conducting business in coordination with the administration is essential. However, if there is any irregularity or injustice, it must be confronted collectively through the organisation Selim Reza added.
The meeting was moderated by Sekendar Ali, general secretary of the North Bengal Bakery Owners Association and general secretary of the Rajshahi
Business Coordination Council.
Special guests who spoke included Kazi Ziaur Rahman Babul, vice president of the North Bengal Bakery Owners Association and President of the Naogaon
District Bakery Owners Association, and Shamim Nazir Ahmed, joint secretary and president of the Joypurhat District Bakery Owners Association.
Abu Bakkar, general secretary of the Rajshahi District Bakery Owners Association, Liaqat Ali, editor of Daily Sonali Sangbad, Akbarul Hasan
Millat, editor of Daily Sonar Desh and Mahbub Alam, proprietor of Bishal Food Industry also spoke, among others.
Members of the North Bengal Bakery Owners Association from various districts were also present.
The meeting emphasized business development, ensuring fairness, safe food production, and collective decision-making through organisational unity.
Only by remaining organised, the business owners can protect their rights and secure the future of the bakery industry, the speakers added.
