RANGPUR, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - The holy Shab-e-Barat, night of fortune, was observed in the metropolis as well as all over in the district, with due religious rituals, fervour and solemnity last night.

In special discussions organised in mosques after Esha prayers, Olamaye-Kerams, Islamic thinkers and Imams delivered speeches describing the spiritual significance of the holy 'Shab-e-Barat' night, one of the four most sacred nights of forgiveness.

Hundreds of the Muslims attended the special discussions and stayed at mosques throughout the night, offered `Nafl' prayers and recited from the holy Qur'an there.

They offered munajats seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for long life, peace, progress, good health and happiness and forgiveness, eternal peace for their departed parents, generations, nearer and dearer ones and eternal peace for all.

The Muslims of all ages visited Munshipara Central graveyard, Nurpur graveyard, Tazhat graveyard, Purbo Shalbon graveyard, Mahiganj graveyard and other graveyards in the city throughout the night and offered Fateha and special munajats.

Milad mehfils and `zikrs' were organised and `tobaraks' distributed at all mosques, including the historical Keramotia Jam-E-Mosque in the city, in urban and rural areas and important places in the district.
