Feb polls: notice issued regarding press cards, vehicle stickers in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - On the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Elections and the upcoming referendum, the district administration has issued a notification regarding the collection of cards and vehicle stickers for media workers responsible for collecting election news in its six constituencies. 

The notification mentions that journalist cards and vehicle stickers will be provided as per the 'Guidelines for Journalists or Media Workers Responsible for Collecting Election News, 2025' issued by the Bangladesh Election Commission Secretariat, a press note of Rangpur Regional PID Office said here today.

According to the notification, journalists or media workers at the district and upazila levels have been requested to submit applications to the Deputy Commissioner, Rangpur and the Returning Officer of the 13th Jatiya Sangbad (JS) Polls by 5 pm on February 5 (Thursday), 2026.
 
As per the rules mentioned in the notification, while applying, the application form should be submitted on the official pad of the concerned media outlet along with the signature of the News Editor/Chief Reporter/Head of News/Bureau Head or District Correspondent.

How many journalists have been assigned from an organisation; their names, surnames, and journalist identity cards/PID card information must be mentioned.
 
The notification further stated that the application form must be accompanied by an updated journalist identity card/PID card, a photocopy of the national identity card, copy of a recently taken passport size and copy of a stamp 
size color photograph.

Besides, all support staff (engineers, technicians) engaged in technical support to television journalists can apply for their (media) identity cards in the same manner.
 
In addition to applying as per the above rules, journalists are required to attach their appointment letter, press ID copy, national identity card copy, driving license, car/motorcycle registration papers, tax token and fitness certificate to get a car or motorcycle sticker.

These information were provided in a notification signed by Rangpur Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer of the February Polls Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, the press note added.
