DHAKA, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - Police, in a drive, have arrested a drug dealer
with 3,000 pieces of yaba tablets from the Uttara West Police Station area in the city.
The arrested was identified as Abdur Rahim, 39, according to a press release
issued by the media and public relations division of Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) here today.
The release said that police later produced Rahim before the court for taking
further legal actions.
A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police under Gulshan Division of the
DMP conducted a raid at Abdullahpur bus stand area about 12:45 am and
arrested Rahim along with 3,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, it added.
The plain clothe police carried out the operation based on confidential
information and also recovered three mobile phone sets from his possession,
the DMP release continued.
It said Rahim has been collecting and selling yaba tablets in the capital for
a long time.
A case was filed with Uttara West Police Station under Narcotics Control Act
against him and police later produced Rahim before the court for taking
further legal actions.
