JHENAIDAH, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - A day-long job fair and skill development seminar was held in the district today with the aim of creating employment opportunities for unemployed youth and enhancing their professional skills.
 
The fair, organized on the premises of Jhenaidah Government Technical School and College, featured stalls from 20 public and private employment agencies.
 
Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce President Moazzem Hossain inaugurated the event. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Principal of Jhenaidah Government Technical School and College Dr Md Anichur Rahman Mridha.
 
Among others, Principal of Shailkupa Government Technical School and College Engineer Al Alauddin and CID Assistant Superintendent of Police Matiar Rahman were present on the occasion. 

Representatives from various government and private organizations, industrial institutions, students, and job seekers also attended the fair.
 
Speaking at the event, Dr Md Anichur Rahman Mridha said the main objective of the fair was to build direct connections between job seekers and employer organizations. He said job seekers were able to submit their resumes and participate in on-the-spot interviews with potential employers.
 
"Last year, around 135 people secured jobs through this initiative. This year, we are receiving an even more positive response," he added.
