Imam conference held in Rangamati to promote referendum, motivate voters

RANGAMATI, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - A district-level Imam conference was held in the district today to promote the referendum and motivate voters ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections.
 
The conference was organized by the Islamic Foundation's Rangamati District Office at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium at 11:00 am. Rangamati Additional District Commissioner (General) Mohammad Ruhul Amin attended the event as the chief guest.
 
The meeting was chaired by Islamic Foundation Rangamati District Deputy Director Muhammad Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury. 

Among others present were Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Tarek Sikandar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Sadar Upazila Aslam Sarwar, and Rangamati Press Club President Anwar Al Haque.
 
Prominent religious scholars, including Maulana Nurul Alam Siddiqui, Principal of Al-Amin Islamia Fazil Madrasa, Maulana Hafez Forkan Ahmed, Superintendent of Longdu Baitush Sharaf Complex and Maulana Muhammad Shariat Ullah, Khatib of Tabalchhari Central Jame Mosque, addressed the conference.
 
Speakers emphasized the significance of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election and described the referendum as a crucial factor in shaping the country's future. 

They said that Imams could play a vital role in encouraging voter participation and raising awareness about the importance of the referendum.
