PIROJPUR, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil and discussion were held here today seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of former BNP Chairperson and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
 
Organized by the BNP unit of Ward No. 7 of Pirojpur Municipality, the programme took place after Juma prayers.
 
Speakers at the event said Begum Khaleda Zia played an uncompromising role throughout her life to protect the country's democracy and establish the voting rights of the people. 
 
Her political sacrifice, courageous leadership, and contributions will remain forever memorable in the history of the nation, they added.
 
BNP-nominate candidate for Pirojpur-1 constituency Principal Alamgir Hossain, district BNP Member Secretary Saidul Islam Kismat and former Joint Convener Sheikh Riaz Uddin Rana, among others, spoke at the event.
 
Presided over by Ward No. 7 BNP President Md. Rafiqul Islam, the event was moderated by former Acting President of District Chhatra Dal Khairul Islam Babu.
 
Leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and other associate bodies were present at the function.
 
Later, Hafez Md. Shamim conducted a special prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia and the peace, prosperity, and welfare of the nation.
