GAIBANDHA, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 1,550 students from three high schools and 13 government primary schools in Fulchhari Upazila have received warm clothes and school bags as part of an educational assistance programme.
Fulchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mostafizur Rahman distributed the materials to the students at a function held on the premises of Chowdhurypara Government Primary School in Urya Union on Thursday.
The programme was organized by Sinnomul Mohila Samity (SMS) and Campaign for Education, two non-government voluntary organizations, under the project 'Shikkha Surokkha: Community-Led Education Promotion in Bangladesh', with cooperation from Standard Chartered Bank.
SMS Executive Director Murshidur Rahman Khan presided over the function.
Speaking at the occasion, UNO Mostafizur Rahman thanked the organizations for supporting students in the river basin and remote areas of the upazila. He said the materials would inspire the students to pursue education with greater enthusiasm.
Teachers, guardians, invited guests, local elites, and bank officials were present at the event.
After receiving the warm clothes and school bags, the beneficiary students expressed their happiness and gratitude to the organizations.
