RANGAMATI, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - A 60-year old woman was killed in a road accident in Shimultali Bangladesh Television Rangamati sub-centre area of the district town on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Momina Begum, 60.

The accident occurred when a rice-laden truck reportedly rolled backward and hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

Five passengers, including the driver, were traveling in the CNG-run auto-rickshaw. Four of them managed to escape, but female passenger Momina was trapped and crushed under the truck. 

She died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangamati Kotwali Police Station Md. Jasim Uddin confirmed the incident.
