RANGPUR, Jan 22, 20256 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the main abductor and rescued the victim college girl of Sadar upazila in Lalmonirhat from the Shibu Market area under Siddhirganj police station of Narayanganj on Wednesday night.
 
The arrested main accused abductor is Md Nayeem Islam, 22, son of Md Mintu Mia of village Balatari under Sadar police station of Lalmonirhat district," a press release said here this afternoon. 
 
Citing the statement of the case filed in this connection, the release said that the arrested accused used to harass the victim in various ways while she was traveling to the college. 
 
Later, when the victim got upset and informed her parents, her mother forbade the arrested accused from doing such wrongdoing when the accused got angry and threatened the plaintiff in various ways. 
 
In continuation of this, when the victim left her house to go to the college, the arrested accused and his accomplices forcibly abducted and took her to an unknown place against her will in a microbus at 9.30 am on October 3, 2024. 
 
Later, the victim's mother filed a kidnapping case with the Lalmonirhat Sadar police station on November 11, 2024 

On a tip off, a joint team of RAB-13 from Rangpur and RAB-11 from Narayanganj in a raid arrested the main accused Md Nayeem Islam and rescued the victim from the Shibu Market area under Siddhirganj police station of Narayanganj at 9:15 pm on Wednesday.
 
The victim and the accused have been handed over to Lalmonirhat Sadar police station for further legal action.
