KHULNA, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - Nazrul Islam Manju, BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency with the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol, formally kicked off his campaign for the 13th national parliamentary election today.

The campaign began at Ferry Ghat intersection in the city, where Manju and party activists distributed leaflets amid a festive atmosphere, marked by enthusiasm among BNP leaders and activists.

Khulna City BNP President Shafiqul Alam Mona and General Secretary S M Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, along with other senior party figures, joined the event.

Addressing the gathering, Manju said voters had been deprived of their rights under the previous autocratic regime and expressed hope that the upcoming election would allow citizens to vote peacefully and impartially after a long gap.

Young voters participating in the campaign expressed their happiness at finally getting the opportunity to exercise their voting rights, noting that they had been unable to do so in previous elections despite being registered.

The election campaign in the constituency will continue from January 22 to February 9, 2026.
