JHENAIDAH, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - Symbols have been allocated among 21
candidates in some four electoral constituencies of Jhenaidah district ahead
of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections.
Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah Md Abdullah Al Masud, also District
Returning Officer for the upcoming JS polls, officially allocated the
different symbols to a total of 21 candidates contesting in four seats of the
district at the conference room here.
In Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency, Md Asaduzzaman got the symbol of
Sheaf of Paddy (BNP), ASM Matiur Rahman received the Scales (10-party
alliance), Matiar Rahman got the 'Eagle' (AB Party), Shahidul Enam Pallab-
(Bangladesh Socialist Party, Marxist) with Kanchi (Scissors) symbol and
Jatiya Party-nominated candidate Monika Alam got the Plow (langol) symbol.
In Jhenaidah-2 (Sadar-Harinakundu) constituency, Md Abdul Majid got the
symbol of Sheaf of Paddy (BNP), Ali Azam Mohammad Abu Bakar got the scales
(10-party alliance), Assadul Islam of 'Bangladesh Socialist Party, BSD got
Moi (ladder), CPB-nominated candidate Abu Toab received Kaste (Sickle), IAB-
nominated candidate Momtazur Rahman got Hat Pakha (Hand Fan) and Jatiya
Party-nominated candidate Saugatul Islam got the Plow symbol.
In Jhenaidah-3 (Kotchandpur-Moheshpur) constituency, Mehedi Hasan got the
Sheaf of Paddy (BNP) symbol, Professor Matiar Rahman got the Scales (10-party
alliance), the candidate of Islami Andolan Bangladesh got the 'Hand Fan' and
Sumon Kabir of Gono Adhiker Parishad got the 'Truck' symbol.
Meanwhile, in Jhenaidah-4 (4 unions of Kaliganj-Sadar) constituency, Rashed
Khan got the Sheaf of Paddy (BNP) symbol, Maulana Abu Taleb got the Scales
(10-party alliance), BNP rebel (independent) candidate Saiful Islam Firoz got
the 'Cup Plate', IAB-nominated candidate Abdul Jalil got the Hand Fan, Khonia
Khanam of Gano Forum got the 'Rising Sun' and Jatiya Party-nominated
candidate Emdadul Islam Bachchu got the Plow symble.
Earlier, election officials were present at the district commissioner's
office at 10:30 am when the symbols were allotted.
Abdullah Al Masud assured the candidates about the polls time law and order
in the district to be normal and that voters will be able to franchise their
voting rights without any hindrance.
