NOAKHALI, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) – A woman was killed after being hit by a pickup van in Chatkhil upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Aleya Begum Shilpi,46, wife of late Md. Shahjahan, a resident of Bakshi Bari in Shanukhali village of Noakhla union.

The accident occurred around 1:45 pm in front of Anis Tower at Khilpara Dakshin Bazar when a pickup van hit the woman while she was crossing the road. She died on the spot. 

Officer-in-Charge of Abdul Monnaf of Chatkhil Police Station confirmed the matter and said, "Further legal action will be taken based on the complaint of the victim's family."
