JHENAIDAH, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - A three-day agricultural technology fair began today in Kaliganj upazila of the district with the aim of familiarizing farmers with the use of modern farming technologies. 

Organised under the Sustainable Agriculture Project of the Jashore region, the fair is featuring participation from 22 organisations showcasing modern agricultural tools, techniques and innovations.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rezwana Nahid inaugurated the fair at 10:00 am at the Kaliganj Upazila Parishad premises.The fair will continue until Wednesday.

Following the inauguration, a discussion meeting was held at the UNO's conference room. Deputy Commissioner Abdul Abdullah Al Masud joined the event virtually. The meeting was chaired by Upazila Agricultural Officer Mahbub Alam Roni.

Among others present were Deputy Director of the District Department of Agricultural Extension Md Kamruzzaman, Upazila Fisheries Officer Hasan Sajjad, BRDB Officer Khairul Haque, Upazila Jute Officer Faruk Hossain, Upazila LGED Officer Shahariar Akash, and officials from various government departments.

After the discussion session, the invited guests visited different stalls at the fair, interacted with participating farmers and innovative young agricultural entrepreneurs also exchanged views on modern farming practices and technological advancements.
