JHENAIDAH, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed after being hit by a truck in the Jhaudia area under Shailkupa upazila of the district early today.

The deceased was identified as Monnu Molla, 40, son of Abu Tayeb Molla of Bijulia village of the upazila.

The accident occurred on the Shailkupa-Hatfazilpur road when an unidentified truck ran him over and fled the scene.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station Humayon Kabir Molla confirmed the matter.
