SUNAMGANJ, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed and at least 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a pickup truck in the Gobindaganj area under Chhatak upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 7:00 am on the Sunamganj-Sylhet regional highway when a bus of 'ENA Paribahan' collided head-on with a pickup truck, leaving the pickup driver dead on the spot and at least 10 passengers of the bus, including the driver, injured.

The deceased's identity could not be confirmed immediately.

The injured were taken to Shantiganj Upazila Health Complex.

Later, the bus driver was referred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
