NETROKONA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - An elderly woman was killed after being hit by a soil-laden truck on the Netrokona–Kendua road in Sadar upazila here today.

The deceased was Manjura Akhter, 65, wife of Khurshed Alam of Lakshipur village under Madanpur union of the upazila. 

The accident occurred at noon in Lakshmipur Rentitala intersection area, when a soil-laden truck ran over the woman while she was crossing the road. She died on the spot.

Al Mamun Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of Netrokona Model Police Station confirmed the matter.
