RANGPUR, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - A voter awareness meeting on the occasion of
the upcoming referendum and the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election- 2026 was
held at the Bahadur Singh Maddhyapara area of Ward No 6 in Rangpur city on
Monday.
The district administration and the District Information Office jointly
organised the programme. Deputy Commissioner of the district Mohammad Enamul
Ahsan was present as the chief guest at the event.
Assistant Director of Rangpur Divisional Information Office Md Alamgir Kabir
provided technical information about ballot papers in the meeting.
On the day of voting, there will be two types of ballot papers at the polling
center - white colored ballot papers for the JS elections and pink colored
ballot papers for the referendum, he added.
He urged the voters to attend the centers peacefully and exercise their right
to vote in an orderly manner.
The Deputy Commissioner said qualified and responsible representatives of the
country are elected through voting. The voters should vote correctly by
knowing the prescribed form and number, he added.
"If the 'Yes' vote is won in the referendum, civil rights and state reforms
will be implemented in light of the July Charter," he continued.
Enamul Ahsan informed the citizens about the responsibility of voting
consciously and said that the key to the country lies in the hands of the
people.
"Spontaneous participation of the voters in the upcoming elections is very
necessary to take the country forward on the path of reform, development and
positive change," he said.
More than 200 men and women from different classes and professions were
present at the event.
