KHULNA, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - As many as 252 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across Khulna division in the last 24 hours till 8 am today, taking the total number of dengue cases in the division to 8,532 this year.

According to the Health Department's latest report issued today, 229 of the newly admitted patients were taken to government hospitals and 23 to private hospitals.

One more dengue-related death was reported during the period, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in the division to 28 this year.

Of the total 8,532 dengue patients reported since January 1, a total of 7,317 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Currently, 970 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the division, while 217 patients have been referred to other hospitals for better treatment.

Khulna district has reported the highest number of dengue cases in the division, with 3,152 patients recorded so far.

Of them, 1,923 patients have been identified at Khulna Medical College Hospital, according to the report.

The health authorities are continuing surveillance and treatment activities as dengue infections remain widespread across the division.
