BOGURA, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) - The two-day ‘Election Journalism Training’ for l journalists concluded here on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of responsible and impartial reporting during the election period.

The concluding ceremony took place at Rochas Restaurant on Sherpur Road in Bogura town, with Additional Deputy Commissioner Mejbaul Karim as the chief guest. Bogura Press Club President Rezaul Hasan Ranu attended as the special guest.

The training was conducted by journalist and teacher Nazia Afreen Monami and brought together 50 journalists from various media outlets across the district. 

Organized by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), the programme covered topics such as election-related news gathering and presentation, professional ethics, responsible journalism, and adherence to the election code of conduct.

Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the sensitivity of the election period and stressed that impartial and objective journalism is crucial to upholding democratic values.

The inauguration of the training programme on Friday was presided over by Farooq Wasif, Director General of the Press Institute of Bangladesh.
