MANIKGANJ, Dec 31, 2025 (BSS) - Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed this morning after being suspended for five hours due to dense fog that severely reduced visibility on the Padma River, officials of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said.

BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager (DGM) Abdus Salam said ferry operations were halted at around 4:30 am early today as thick fog blanketed the river, making navigation unsafe.

With visibility improving, ferry movement resumed at 9:30 am, he added. All ferries are now operating normally and carrying full loads.
