BAGERHAT, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today held a prayer and Quran recitation programme in Mollahat upazila, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme was organised by Atjuri Union BNP at its office this evening.

Atjuri Union BNP President Md Dulal Mia, Organising Secretary Md Iqbal Fakir and Ward No. 4 BNP President Safayet Mallick coordinated the event.

Special prayers were offered and verses from the Holy Quran were recited for the salvation of Begum Khaleda Zia's soul, while deep condolences were expressed to the bereaved family.

Speakers recalled Begum Khaleda Zia's role in establishing democracy and protecting human rights in the country, saying that her death is an irreparable loss to the nation.

BNP leaders and activists, along with members of its associate bodies, attended the programme.
