NARAYANGANJ, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 57 candidates from various political parties and as independents have submitted their nomination papers for five parliamentary constituencies here in the district ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election scheduled for February 12 next year.
The information was confirmed by Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Raihan Kabir, who is also serving as the returning officer of the district.
Candidates submitted their nomination papers to the returning officer and assistant returning officers today, the final day of submission. Earlier, three candidates had submitted their nomination papers on Sunday.
Apart from candidates from major political parties including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP), several independent candidates also filed their nomination papers with the Election Commission.
According to the district returning officer, eight candidates submitted nomination papers in Narayanganj-1 constituency, while 10 candidates filed nominations in Narayanganj-2. In Narayanganj-3, 11 candidates submitted papers, followed by 15 candidates in Narayanganj-4 and 13 candidates in Narayanganj-5 constituency.
