CHATTOGRAM, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 500 blankets were distributed blankets among cold-stricken poor, disabled and homeless people in different areas of Chattogram city area on Sunday night.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah took the initiative for the cold-stricken people of the city.

The winter clothing distribution programme was conducted by the district administration from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am.

The DC distributed blankets at DC Hill, Kazir Deuri, CRB, Railway Station area, areas adjacent to Shilpakala Academy and Mehedibagh. 

Deputy Director (Local Government), Additional Deputy Commissioners, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer and other senior officials of the district administration were present during the programme and supervised the activities.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah said the district administration would continue such humanitarian initiatives in future to assist people suffering from severe cold.
