CUMILLA, Dec 25, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces arrested a man along with two pistols and 14 rounds of ammunition during a raid in Homna upazila of the district early this morning.
 
The arrested was identified as Sohag, 32, son of Taru Mia, a resident of Mathabhanga area of the upazila. 
 
The joint team led by the Cumilla 33 Infantry Division conducted a drive in the area around 6:00 am and arrested Sohag with the firearms and bullets.
 
Following the arrest, both the accused and the recovered weapons were handed over to Homna Police Station for legal proceedings.

Confirming the incident, Homna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Joynal Abedin said a person had been arrested with illegal firearms. Necessary legal procedures are underway, he added.
