33 candidates collect nomination papers in Khulna's 6 seats

KHULNA, Dec 25, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 33 candidates from eight political parties have, so far, collected nomination papers in six parliamentary constituencies of Khulna ahead of the upcoming 13th national elections.

Of them, 10 candidates are from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), six from Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, three from Islami Andolan Bangladesh, three from Khelafat Majlish, three from the Jatiya Party, two from the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), one each from the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Islami Jatiya Oikya Front (IJOF), an alliance of a faction of the Jatiya Party, and Sammilito Jatiya Jote while three independent candidates have also collected nomination papers.

In Khulna-1 constituency, BNP nominated candidate Amir Ejaj Khan, Jamaat candidate Krishna Nandi, former Chhatra Dal leader Gobinda Halder (independent candidate), Jatiya Party candidate Md Jahangir Hossain, and Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) candidate Kishore Kumar Roy collected nomination papers. 

Besides, Jatiya Party Presidium Member Sunil Shubho Roy collected nomination papers as a candidate of the Sammilito Jatiya Jote from the constituency.

In Khulna-2, nomination papers were collected by BNP's Nazrul Islam Manju, Jamaat's Sheikh Jahangir Hossain Helal, Islami Andolan's Mufti Aman Ullah, Khelafat Majlish's Md Shahidul Islam, and BNP Khulna City unit general secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin.

In Khulna-3, BNP's Rakibul Islam Bakkul, Jamaat's Mahfuzur Rahman, Islami Andolan's Hafez Abdul Awwal, NDM's Sheikh Arman Hossain, Khelafat Majlish's FM Harun-Or-Rashid and independent candidates Abdur Rouf Mollah and Abul Hasnat Siddique collected nomination papers.

In Khulna-4, BNP's Azizul Bari Helal, Jamaat's Md Kabirul Islam, Islami Andolan's Hafez Maulana Yunus Ahmed, Khelafat Majlish's Maulana SM Sakhawat Hossain, Jatiya Party's Syed Abul Kasem and independent candidate ASM Azmal Hossain collected nomination papers.

In Khulna-5, BNP's Ali Azgar Lobi, Jamaat's Mia Golam Parwar, BNP's Shafi Mohammad Khan and Mollah Mosharraf Hossain Mofiz, CPB's Chitta Ranjan Halder, and Jatiya Party's Shamim Ara Parveen collected nomination papers.

In Khulna-6 constituency, BNP's Monirul Hasan Bappi, Jamaat's Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and independent candidate Asadul Bishwas collected nomination papers to contest the upcoming 13th national parliamentary polls.
