NARSINGDI, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested Manjur Elahi, chairman 
of Mirzapur Union Parishad (UP) under Raipura upazila of the district and 
finance secretary of the upazila unit of Bangladesh Awami League.

He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon from the Mirzapur UP Office as part of 
Operation Devil Hunt (Phase-2), police said.

Mohammad Mujibor Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Raipura Police Station, 
confirmed the matter.

According to eyewitnesses and local sources, a team of the law enforcement 
officials went to the UP Office around this noon and detained Manjur Elahi. 

After verifying necessary documents, police formally showed him arrested 
under the Anti-Terrorism Act and took him to the police station.

Police said the operation is part of an ongoing special drive aimed at 
maintaining law and order, adding that such operations will continue.

Manjur was arrested in connection with a case filed with Raipura Police 
Station, the OC said, adding, "He also faces another case, filed with 
Narsingdi Sadar Police Station."
