GAIBANDHA, DEC 22, 2025 (BSS)- SKS Foundation has intensified warm cloth distribution activities as the cold wave has been sweeping over the district for last two days, creating untold sufferings and sorrows of the poor and distressed people here.
 
The poor people who are living on the Brahmaputra river basins are the worst sufferers. 

Realizing the sufferings and sorrows of the cold-affected poor, SKS Foundation, a Gaibandha-based non-government development organisation working across the country, stood beside them with packages of warm clothes to mitigate their sufferings caused by the ongoing cold wave.
 
In this regard, different distribution functions were held on the premises of Gozaria and Fulchhari Union Parishads (Ups)under Fulchhari upazila and Holdia UP under Saghata upazila at the initiative of SKS Foundation under Bangladesh Winter Programme'25 supported by Muslim Aid USA through Muslim Aid UK Bangladesh Field Office.
 
In the functions, packages-- contained a blanket, 4 sweaters, four monkey caps, four pairs of sock and four jars of petroleum jelly-- of warm clothes were given to 657 poor cold-affected people of Fulchhari and Saghata upazilas of the district from the organisation. 

Project Manager of thye foundation Md. Jalal Uddin formally inaugurated the package distribution activities in the morning on behalf of the organisation as the chief guest. 

Upazila ICT Officer of Fulchari upazila Md. Rubel Sarkar, Acting Chairman of Gazaria UP Md. Zihadur Rahaman, Prosenjit Roy, Project Coordinator of the Muslim Aid-UK Bangladesh Field Office Rezaul Karim and other officials of the SKS Foundation were present on the occasion. 

In addition, a similar function was also held at SKS Resource Centre, located at Haatbharatkhali under Saghata upazila on Sunday, from where packages of warm clothes were distributed to 238 cold-affected poor and distressed women of Saghata union of the upazila under the programme being implemented by the organisation.
