COX'S BAZAR, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) - A youth was killed in a road accident in Chhagirshah Kata area under Chakoria upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was Shafiul Alam, 26, son of Selim Uddin of the Chiringa area of Chakaria Municipality.

The accident occurred on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway when a bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' hit a motorcycle around 2 pm from the opposite direction, leaving bike rider Alam dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Malumghat Highway Police Station Md. Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter.
