SYLHET, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a suspected drug dealer along with 21,000 pieces of yaba tablets during a raid in Zakiganj upazila of the district on Saturday evening.
 
The arrested individual was identified as Dulal Ahmed, 28, son of Charkum Ali, a resident of the Paschim Madarkhal village under Khalachhara union of the upazila.
 
A team of police conducted a drive at the house of Dulal. Later, he brought out two plastic jars containing 21,000 yaba tablets that had been concealed inside a rice drum in his house and handed them over to the police, said Officer-in-Charge of Zakiganj Police Station Abdur Razzak.
 
Necessary legal action has been taken. The accused has been produced before the court, he added.
 
Police said further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the drug trade.
