SHERPUR, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident on Gazni road in Rangtia area Jhinaigati upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Abu Bakkar, 50, of Rangtia area.

“The accident occurred when two motorcycles collided head-on in the area leaving four riders of the bikes injured critically.” Jhinaigati Thana Officer-in-Charge Nazmul Hasan told BSS.   

Locals rescued them and sent to Jhinaigati Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared Abu Bakkar dead. The three others were sent to Sherpur Zila Sadar Hospital for better treatment.

The injured are Kabita Khatun, 15, Sinha Khatun, 10, and Sifat, 20.
