BAGERHAT, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - Bagerhat District BNP today held a preparatory meeting at its district office ahead of the return of the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to the country on December 25.

Bagerhat District BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim presided over the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Talim said the return of Tarique Rahman after a long time will usher in new hope for democracy and strengthen the movement to restore people's right to vote.

He expressed hope that BNP will move forward in a more organized manner under Tarique Rahman's leadership towards building a democratic and prosperous Bangladesh.

Leaders of the district, upazila and different units of BNP and its affiliated organizations attended the meeting.

A large number of BNP leaders and activists from Bagerhat are expected to join the reception programme in Dhaka on December 25 marking Tarique Rahman's homecoming.
