BAGERHAT, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) - A young woman was killed in a road accident on 
the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Joydihi bus stand area of Mollahat upazila in 
the district around 7 pm today. 

The deceased was Nira Begum, 22, daughter of Farhad Molla of Kahalpur village 
in Mollahat upazila. 

Police sources said that she was riding on a motorcycle with her husband when 
she suddenly fell onto the road. At that moment, an unidentified car struck 
her and fled the scene, killing her on the spot. 

On receiving the information, a team from Mollahat Fire Service rushed to the 
spot and recovered the body. The body was handed over to the Mollahat Highway 
Police Station. 

Officer-in-Charge of Mollahat Highway Police Station Md Asaduzzaman confirmed 
the matter, adding that legal action would be taken to identify the vehicle 
involved in the accident.
