CHATTOGRAM, Dec 15, 2025 (BSS) – The Chattogram district administration has chalked out an elaborate three-day programme, beginning tomorrow (Monday), to celebrate the 54th Victory Day 2025 with due fervour and festivity.
The programme includes illumination of important places, road islands and establishments on the night of December 15, while the formal celebrations will begin with a 31-gun salute at the Liberation War Monument near DC Park at Kattali, followed by the placing of wreaths in the early morning of December 16.
The national flag will be hoisted atop all government, autonomous and important office buildings. A ceremonial hoisting of the national flag will be held at Chattogram Stadium at 8:00 am, followed by the playing of the national anthem, release of balloons and pigeons, a colourful student rally, march past and physical display, all of which are included in the official programme.
The district administration will also accord a reception to freedom fighters, injured freedom fighters and family members of martyred freedom fighters at the Circuit House at 11:00 am. In addition, Liberation War-based films will be screened for students at cinema halls, while documentaries will be shown for the general public at important open spaces and public auditoriums from the city to upazila levels.
Special prayers will be offered at mosques, temples, pagodas and churches. Friendly sports tournaments featuring traditional games will be organized, and improved diets will be distributed at jails and social welfare centres for children, vagabonds and persons with disabilities.
According to the programme, essay, drawing and poetry recitation competitions and cultural functions will be held. All public amusement facilities will remain open from dawn to dusk with free entry.
On December 17, a colourful jubilant procession will be brought out from the Circuit House premises at 10:00 am on the occasion of “Free Chattogram Day,” followed by a discussion meeting at the Circuit House conference room.
A three-day fair featuring handicrafts and locally manufactured artistic products will be held at the CRB area of the city, beginning Monday, according to a circular issued by the district administration.
