MEHERPUR, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - A student of class ten named Rakesh Ahmed (15) was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Gangni upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Rakesh Ahmed, 15, son of Md. Kamrul Islam of Terail village in the upazila. He is a student of the local Bamondi Nishipur School and College. 

The injured are Avik Ahmed, 28, and Shayan Ali, 16. 

The accident took place around 11.30 am at Bamondi Bus Stand of the upazila when two speedy motorcycles collided head-on, leaving three bike riders injured critically, said Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Uttam Kumar Das.

The injured were taken to a local private clinic where the doctor on duty declared Rakesh dead. 

As the injured Shayan's condition was critical, he was referred to Kushtia Medical College Hospital.
