RANGPUR, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - The people of Rangpur today observed Martyred Intellectuals Day-2025 with due solemnity and respect, paying homage to the martyred intellectuals, the nation's finest sons, in Rangpur city and across the district.

Marking the day, the administration and various social organizations paid homage to the martyred intellectuals by placing wreaths at the Liberation War Memorial adjacent to Rangpur Town Hall Baddhyabhumi at around 9:30 am.

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam paid tribute to the martyrs by placing wreaths at the memorial, accompanied by senior officials of the divisional administration.

They were followed by Rangpur City Corporation Administrator, Rangpur Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bangladesh Police, Rangpur Metropolitan Police, district administration, district police administration and various social organizations paid homage.

Subsequently, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator Md Ashraful Islam, Rangpur Range DIG Aminul Islam, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, Superintendent of Police Md Marufat Hussaine and Muktijoddha Sangsad District Unit Commander Bir Muktijoddha Md Ansar Ali paid tribute by placing wreaths.

Besides, the Muktijoddha Santan Command Unit, Fire Service and Civil Defence, government and private offices, and different social, cultural and professional organizations commemorated the day by placing wreaths at the memorial.
