MANIKGANJ, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS)- An infant boy was killed in a road accident near Singair Bus-stand area on Hemayetpur-Singair-Manikganj Regional Highway on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Zahid Ibn Zaman, 9, son of Md Zaman, of Jhukkuria village under Manikganj Sadar Upazila of the district.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Rashedul Islam of Singair Police Station said the accident occurred at about 10.30 am when a microbus coming from Manikganj knocked down a CNG of the same direction from behind and the CNG passenger Zahid splashed on the road and at that time a speedy truck coming from the opposite direction and crushed the head of Zahid under its wheel killing him on the spot.

The Police said the truck was seized, but the microbus managed to fly. 

The deceased's body was sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection, the Police added.
