MADARIPUR, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced candidates for two constituencies in Madaripur for the upcoming parliamentary election.
The has announced candidates for 36 more constituencies, in addition to the previously declared 237 seats, for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election.
Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of the candidates at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan this afternoon.
Nadira Akhter, joint convener of Shibchar Upazila BNP, has been nominated for the Madaripur-1 (Shibchar) constituency.
Nadira is the wife of the late Mithu Chowdhury, former president of Shibchar Upazila BNP, and is regarded as an influential figure in local politics.
For the Madaripur-2 constituency, the party has nominated Jahandar Ali Jahan, member secretary of the district BNP.
A former general secretary of Government Nazim Uddin College, Jahan has long been active in the party’s organizational activities and is known for his involvement in district-level political affairs.
