KHULNA, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested the prime accused in the sensational murder of Sakirun Begum of Terokhada upazila in Khulna.

A RAB-6 operational team conducted a raid late Saturday night (yesterday) in the Mathabhanga area under Kalia Police Station in Narail and detained the accused, Anis Sardar, 45, son of late Rahim Sardar of Harishpur village under Kalia upazila, said a RAB press today.

Case documents show that Anis Sardar married victim Sakirun Begum in 2018 following a romantic relationship. 

Over time, Sakirun entrusted him with various sums of money. Following the  second marriage of the accused, a dispute arose when Sakirun demanded recognition of her marital rights and the return of her money. 

On March 22, 2025, she was reportedly murdered by the accused along with family members.

The victim’s sister, Panna Sheikh, later filed a murder case at Terokhada Police Station naming multiple accused including Anis Sardar.

The arrested accused was handed over to Terokhada Police Station for further legal action, the press release added.
