CUMILLA, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - The District and City Imam-Khatib Conference under the initiative of the district and city units of the Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation will be held at the town hall ground here tomorrow.
The conference will begin at 9 am where Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain will join as the chief guest. Huge enthusiasm and excitement has been created among the organizers centering this large religious gathering.
President of the foundation's Cumilla city unit Shaykh Abdullah Al-Mamun Mostafi at a press conference at Cumilla Press Club today disclosed details of the event.
He said the objective of the conference is to further strengthen the responsible role of Imams and Khatibs in ethical leadership, religious values, preaching activities, social harmony and in establishing peace and order in the country.
"We want to create a comprehensive platform of knowledge and inspiration for Imam-Khatibs as their role is extremely important in establishing peace, harmony, and Islamic ideals in the country," he said.
Chairman of the Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation Shaykh Mufti Shamim Mojumdar (Hafi) will be present as main speaker at the conference while Director General of the Islamic Foundation Abdus Salam Khan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Cumilla Md Reza Hasan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nazir Ahmed Khan and Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Cumilla Ashekur Rahman will join as special guests.
Secretary General of the National Khatib Foundation Mufti Sharif Ullah Tareki will remain present as special speaker while the dua and munajat will be conducted by the senior adviser of the foundation Allama Shah Salah Uddin Nanupuri.
Among others, Cumilla city unit president of the foundation Shaykh Abdullah Al-Mamun Mostafi, its secretary Mufti Kazi Abu Yusuf Faruqi, president of Cumilla north district Mufti Israfil Bin Ahmad, city unit vice president Maulana Delwar Hossain Oikkobadi and city organizing secretary Maulana Tafazzal Hossain Abedi were present at the press conference.
