Tarique Rahman's birthday marked with free medical camp in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long free medical camp and humanitarian assistance programme was held yesterday at Khalishpur Camp No. 3 in Khulna to mark the 61st birthday of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The programme was organised by BNP central student affairs secretary and Khulna-3 constituency candidate Rakibul Islam Bakul with support from the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB), Khulna.

Hundreds of sick and underprivileged people received free medical checkups, prescriptions, consultations and medicines at the camp. 

A team of physicians led by Dr Saleh Ahmed Palash conducted the services, joined by Belal Hossain Suman and DAB doctors Abu Bakr, Abul Kalam Azad, Jewel, Zakaria, Nishan, Hasan, Promi and others.

Khulna city BNP organisational secretary Sheikh Sadi, Khalishpur Thana BNP general secretary Habibur Rahman Bishwas, Khulna University Teachers' Association president Mahmudul Hasan Palash and leaders of BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Chhatra Dal and the Women's Wing were present.

Speaking at the event, Bakul prayed for the health and long life of Begum Khaleda Zia. He said they stood beside the people to help realise Tarique Rahman's vision of bringing smiles to every household.

Bakul announced that all required laboratory tests and medicines, including those not immediately available at the camp, would be provided free of cost. 

He added that similar free medical camps would be arranged in every ward and that eye camps would resume soon.

Addressing students' needs, he said no child in his constituency would be deprived of admission or textbooks due to financial hardship.

After the medical camp, Bakul conducted mass contact in the area, listened to local concerns and distributed food among destitute and homeless people. 

He said Tarique Rahman was working for a new Bangladesh and employment opportunities for all citizens, and sought prayers for both Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
