BAGERHAT, August 10, 2025 (BSS) - As part of the ongoing initiative to offer essentials at fair prices, the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has launched cash-based sales through mobile trucks in Kachua upazila, alongside other upazilas in the district.
The sale began today at three key locations in Kachua -- Bijoy Chattar, Kachua Sadar Union, Dhopakhali Union Parishad, and Gopalpur Union Parishad.
Products will be sold daily on a first-come, first-served basis from August 10 to August 31, including to low-income consumers holding smart cards.
Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Ali Hasan officially inaugurated the cash-sale program at 11am today on the Upazila premises.
Speaking to BSS, UNO Ali Hasan said each customer will be able to purchase 1 kg of sugar at Tk 80, 2 kg of lentils at Tk 70 per kg, and soybean oil at Tk 115 per liter (Tk 230 two liter). A total product bundle worth Tk 450 will be available per person, with a daily quota for 500 customers at each location.
These sales aim to support the marginalized population, ensuring their access to essential commodities at subsidized rates.
TCB operations have simultaneously commenced today across all 9 upazilas and 3 municipalities of Bagerhat district.
