Khulna ready to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr

KHULNA, April 6, 2024 (BSS) – A preparatory meeting for celebrating the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, with due religious fervour was held today in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Khandkar Yasir Arefin, the meeting was attended by officials, the elite, freedom fighters, journalists and Imams of mosques.

It has been decided that the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr in Khulna will be held at the Circuit House ground at 8am in the morning while the second Eid congregation will be held at Khulna Aliya Madrasa Model Mosque at 8:30 am.

If the weather is unfavorable, the first and main congregation will be held at Khulna Town Jam-e-Mosque at 8 am.

Besides, under the management of Khulna City Corporation and with supervision of ward councilors, separate Eid congregations will be held in each Jam-e mosque of all 31 wards in the city.

On the day of Eid, all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private buildings should hoist the national flag of the correct color and size. Important places and the city roads will be decorated with flags marking Eid Mubarak.
 
It has also been decided that the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) will take all necessary measures for properly and befittingly prepare the prayer venues.
Law enforcement agencies will increase their patrol activities to ensure a smooth journey of people returning home during Eid by road and waterways and to maintain the security of the market area.
 
On Eid-day, improved food will be served in all government hospitals, prisons, orphanages, and children's families. Khulna Regional Center of Bangladesh Betar will broadcast special programmes and local newspapers will publish special supplements on the occasion.

Later, another preparatory meeting was also held at the same venue for celebrating Pahela Baishakh, Bangla New Year-1431 with due dignity and in a befitting manner.
