CHATTOGRAM, March 26, 2024 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a life-term fugitive convict in a murder case from city's Mizpara area under Panchlish thana on Tuesday night, 17 years after the verdict. 

Sub-Inspector Ahmed Sohel of Panchliash thana said the arrested Md Masud 45, son of Abul Hossain, hailed from city's Mizpara area under Panchlish thana in a murder case of murder case of Biyazid Bostami thana in the port city on August 21 in 2007.

The accused Masud left the area after filling the case and went into hiding.

Later, a Chattogram court awarded life-term imprisonment to Masud of July 23 in 2023 and fined Taka 50, 000, in default, he will serve more six months of rigorous imprisonment.

He will send over to the court for further legal action.
