RAJSHAHI, Nov 30, 2023 (BSS) - Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime drive, arrested an alleged top-listed firearms trader with two firearms in the district here last night.
 
The arrested was identified as Jony Islam, 27, son of Mokbul Islam of Gaganbaria village under Durgapur upazila in the district, RAB sources said here this noon.
 
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at his locality around 9.30 pm and arrested him.
 
The operation team recovered two on-shooter guns from his possession, according to the RAB sources.
 
The RAB team detained the person for his long involvement in firearms and drugs trading and trafficking.
 
A case was recorded with Durgapur Police Station in this connection and the arrested person, along with the seized firearms, were handed over to police, the sources added.
