MANIKGANJ, Nov 16, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced four persons to life-term imprisonment in two separate cases in Manikganj over murder. 
 
Additional District and Sessions Judge Sabina Yeasmin pronounced the verdict in a crowded court against Kafil Uddin, Awlad Hossain and Delwar Hossain. The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, they have to serve one year more in jail. 
 
According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Bithi, an eight-year-old daughter of Abdur Rashid of village Ulail under Daulatpur upazila, by strangulating over previous enmity on January 10, 2010. 
 
On the next day, the father of the deceased filed a murder case with Daulatpur Police Station.
 
The same court awarded life-term jail to Ranjit Kumar Mondol for killing his wife Sharashwati Mondol on July 17, 2008 with sharp weapon over family feud at the village Khagrakuri under Manikganj Sadar Upazila of the district. 
 
On the next day, the uncle of the deceased filed a case with Manikganj police station.
 
The court fined him Tk 30,000, in default, he has to serve six months more in jail.
 
The court also issued a warrant against the convict as he remains fugitive.
