KURIGRAM, Nov 4, 2023 (BSS) - The National Constitution Day was observed in the district today as elsewhere across the country.

The Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of Bangladesh on November 4, 1972 and came into effect on December 16 in the same year.

This year's theme of the day is 'Bangabandhur Vabona, Songvidhaner Bornona'.

Marking the day, the district administration organized a discussion in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office this morning with deputy commissioner Md Saidul Arif in the chair.
 
The function was addressed, among others, by Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md. Mahfuzul Islam, Kurigram Municipal Mayor Kaziul Islam, public prosecutor (PP) Advocate Abraham Lincoln and Freedom Fighter Abdul Hye Bir Pratik.

The speakers said, "Our constitution is one of the best constitutions in the world. This constitution fully guarantees the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people. It is recognized as a prosperous constitution all over the world".
