CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 29, 2023 (BSS) - The biennial conference of the Chapainawabganj district unit of Bangabandhu Parishad was held at the auditorium of C'Nawabganj Government College on Saturday afternoon. 

Acting president of the district unit of Bangabandhu Parishad Md. Mizanur Rahman Mizu presided over it.

Former vice chancellor of Rajshahi University, member of the Advisory Council of Awami League and also the central presidium member of Bangabandhu Parishad Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleque attended the conference as chief guest. While a central presidium member of Bangabandhu Parishad and also a teacher of the Department of History of Rajshahi University Professor Dr. Abul Kashem attended it as the chief speaker.

Among others, central organising secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad SM Lutfur Rahaman, Shibganj upazila chairman and vice president of Chapainawabganj district unit of Awami League Syed Nazrul Islam and others spoke on the occasion. 

Besides, general secretary of Chapainawabganj district unit of Bangabandhu Parishad Shasuzzaman Babu gave the welcome speech and joint secretary of Chapainawabganj district unit of Bangabandhu Parishad Golam Faruk Mithun Awami League leader Shahidul Huda Alok presented the conference. 

The chief guest and the chief speaker gave an elaborate history of Bangabandhu Parishad and asked its members to uphold the spirit of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 
They said that the national and the foreign conspirators are still active to take revenge of their defeat in 1971.

They also asked all pro-liberation forces to remain alert and united against all conspiracies sothat none can take back the country to the dark period of communalism that happened after the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975.

Later Mizanur Rahman Mizu and Shamsuzzaman Babu were declared as the president and secretary of the district unit of Bangabandhu Parishad for the next two years.
