MANIKGANJ, Sept 30, 2023 (BSS) - A physician tried to kill herself after killing her seven-year-old son by feeding poison in the Gangadhar Patti area of the district town today.

The victim was identified as Rush, 7, son of Dr, Mita Sarker and Dr Ranjon Sarker. Both the husband and wife work at Trauma General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge Manikganj Sadar Police Station Abdur Rouf said the maid servant of the house Renu Bala entering the house in the morning found the mother and son in an unconscious condition and called other members of the family.

Being informed by family members, police rushed to the spot and sent them to the Manikganj Sadar 250-bed Hospital immediately where the duty doctor declared the son dead and the mother was admitted to the hospital.

Later, she was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The OC said the incident might have happened due to family feud.
